FA Cup Final Prediction: Why I hate both of these teams this season

When I say that I hate these teams, I am not meaning this in an Hooligan or Drefooty way of disliking these teams. I hate the fact that I cannot get a beat on how both of these teams got into Saturday’s FA Cup Final match. Chelsea and Liverpool have been an inconsistent bunch from start to finish and seeing both of these clubs in the oldest Cup final makes me sick.

Chelsea seems interested in sitting in and having their three forwards attack while the six or seven other players defend with their lives. It is a boring way to go about the game and most people are offended with these negative football. I understand it because they have older players on their squad that cannot keep up with the pace of playing an attacking style which got AVB sacked. It is irritating to see a team like this who isn’t a good footballing team in a final and we’ve seen them play abject football at times

Their awful football during the beginning of the season led to the departure of AVB, then “player power” stepped in to “manage” this club for the rest of this season and they’ve played 10x better. Nobody would have thought in March that Chelsea would be in a FA Cup or Champions League final, because they woke up or finally started playing for another manager (that’s debatable), they see themselves within reaching distance of winning both and I see something wrong with that.

And Liverpool, oh Merseysiders. From the Luis Suarez situation to the failure of their summer transfer to prove their worth, I have to say they’ve had a failure of a season. Any viewer outside of the Liverpool fan, did you know Liverpool won the Carling Cup couple of months ago? Don’t worry, I’ll wait….Nobody cares about the tournament. It is good to have a trophy in the case, but that Cup winning performance doesn’t bring notoriety to the worldwide audience because it doesn’t matter as much as the Premier League or gaining entry to the Champions League which is much more lucrative.

Problems of the Reds definitely lie with their inability to score goals, Luis Suarez is the only double digit goal-scorer in the club. Andy Carroll has been a shell of himself since he moved to Liverpool from Newcastle last winter and none of the other transfers have held their weight this season. Steven Gerrard was injured for most of this season and now he is rounding to form but I don’t know if he has that touch he once had a few years ago.

Prediction: Liverpool have turned in bad performances in the league but in cup action they have been nothing short of amazing beating sides like Manchester United in the FA Cup and City in the Carling Cup. With Luis Suarez (“The Horse”) rounding to form with last week’s hat-trick performance, I can see Liverpool delivering the goods and they’ve had Chelsea’s number in the last few seasons winning three consecutive against the West London side. Also the squad from Stamford Bridge will be comfortable in sitting in and playing off the counter, for at least one game I think it will come back to bite them in the backside and Liverpool will run out with a 2-0 victory and their second Cup victory of the season.

Convincing. I might have to alter my pick for the final after reading that. Head to head is one thing but the outside factors may make the difference. And will Chelsea finally run out of luck?

As a Sunderland fan i’m not really bothered who wins the FA Cup, BUT!! if Newcastle get 4th spot in the league, I really hope Chelsea win the European Cup, then the Dirty Magpies will have their dream taken away from them Hahaha as this will mean only the top 3 go into the Champions league FTM

I am kinda a stickler for statistics. Liverpool has beaten them four consecutive times, they played each other in the Carling Cup Final. It should be an interesting game.
